Warrant canary

Published and PGP-signed every month since April 2021. Current statement: 2026-08-01.

What it is

A warrant canary is a statement we publish on a schedule: as of this date, we have not received secret legal process. Some orders — National Security Letters, gag orders — forbid saying they exist. They cannot, in most jurisdictions, compel us to lie. So if this page ever stops updating, or a statement goes missing, that silence is the message.

Why it matters here

VPSRento's promise is that we hold nothing worth seizing: no identities, no logs, no email. A canary is the tripwire that would tell you if someone tried to change that silently. It is one of the few trust signals a no-KYC company can offer that cannot be faked retroactively.

How to verify

Each statement is a clearsigned PGP message. Check three things: the date is recent (we publish by the 5th of each month), the signature verifies against our published fingerprint, and the history below is unbroken. Verification takes one command — shown at the bottom of this page.

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 VPSRENTO WARRANT CANARY — 2026-08-01 As of 2026-08-01, VPSRento (vpsrento.com) states the following: 1. We have received ZERO National Security Letters. 2. We have received ZERO gag orders or other orders preventing us from disclosing the existence of legal process. 3. We have received ZERO orders to disclose customer data, and have disclosed ZERO customer data to any government, court, or third party. 4. We have NOT been compelled to modify, weaken, or bypass any security or privacy feature of our systems, and no backdoor of any kind exists in our infrastructure. 5. We have NOT been compelled to deploy surveillance software or hardware on any VPSRento node, and none is deployed. 6. No VPSRento signing key or infrastructure private key has been seized, compromised, or disclosed to any third party. This canary is republished monthly, no later than the 5th of each month (UTC). If an expected update does not appear, or a statement above disappears, treat that absence as a warning and verify the situation through independent channels before trusting this service. The next update is due no later than 2026-09-05. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQIzBAEBCgAdFiEETBqec9ArWPah2TtMfg4vZV9k3mAFAmiN0pAACgkQfg4vZV9k 3mDRlA/+L3qVkF2mQzR7tYbNwXuHjKp0sAcE4vBn9dF6hT2rLwM1oP8yUqZxCeK5 Vn3gJaW0mR9cQfE2tS7bNh4LpX1uO6kYiG8vDz3wF5qH0rM9cA2eT7jB4sU6lKx1 pN8vR3yQ0wZ5tE2hG6kF9mC1bX4dJ7oL0aS3uY8iW5rV2qH9cN6eM1tB4fK7xP0z A3sD6gJ9lU2vE5hR8wQ1yT4oI7kN0cF3bX6mZ9aL2dH5jG8rS1uV4wY7pK0tE3h Q6nB9xM2cF5vJ8kR1wL4uZ7aT0dG3hP6sY9oC2eN5fH8jK1mQ4rV7wA0xD3tU6i B9gL2pS5vE8yM1cJ4nR7wF0kH3aX6uQ9dT2oI5lZ8sC1eG4jN7rK0wB3hV6mP9t F2aD5xH8kL1uE4nS7wJ0cR3gY6qM9vT2oI5lA8sC1eF4jB7rK0wN3hU6mZ9tX2 Q5aD8xH1kL4uE7nS0wJ3cR6gY9qM2vT5oI8lA1sC4eF7jB0rK3wN6hU9mZ2tX5 Y8aD1xH4kL7uE0nS3wJ6cR9gY2qM5vT8oI1lA4sC7eF0jB3rK6wN9hU2mZ5tX8 Q1aD4xH7kL0uE3nS6wJ9cR2gY5qM8vT1oI4lA7sC0eF3jB6rK9wN2hU5mZ8tX1 =K7dQ -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

A canary you cannot verify is decoration. Do not take this page at face value — run the verification below. If the signature ever fails while the text claims all is well, assume the worst and act accordingly.

Verify it yourself

Thirty seconds with GnuPG, on any OS.

Save the signed block above (from -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- to -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----) as canary.txt, import our key, and verify:

$ gpg --recv-keys 7E082F65C91B04A7 $ gpg --fingerprint [email protected] # must show: 4C1A 9E73 D02B 58F6 A1D9 3B4C 7E08 2F65 C91B 04A7 $ gpg --verify canary.txt # expect: Good signature from "VPSRento Support <[email protected]>"

Three failure modes and what they mean:

  • Signature invalid — the text was altered, or the page is being served by someone else. Do not trust it.
  • Good signature, wrong fingerprint — our key may be compromised or the site is impersonated. Cross-check via the fingerprint published on contact.html and archived copies of this page.
  • No update by the 5th — the canary is dead. That is the signal doing its job.

Publication history

Every canary since the first one in April 2021. Unbroken for five years. We commit to publishing by the 5th of each month (UTC); the table records the actual publication date.
